Let’s take a look at the Vegas odds on award winners through Week 7 of the XCFL Season.
550 Takkarist McKinley, OLB ATL- 17 Sacks, 21 Tackles, 1 FF. McKinley is looking to run it back.
600 Aaron Rodgers, QB GB- 2124 Yards, 16 TDs, 7 INT, 121.8 QBR. Rodgers is in as much of a fight against opposing players on the list as he is Brooks and Kamara.
750 Gordon Federkeil, QB Jax- 1949 Yards, 17TDs, 9 INT, 110.0 QBR. He is gunning for MVP, but AFC OROY will be a nice consolation.
800 Ja’Darius Figurs, WR Atl- 835 Rec Yards, 7 TD. Figurs will be listed on 3 lists, as he has a tremendous start to the season.
950 Le’Veon Bell, RB Ten- 774 Rush Yards, 10 Rush TDs. Le’Veon is leading the race as far as HBs are concerned.
1400 Josh Allen, QB BUF- 1792 Yards, 14 TDs, 8 INT, 127.6 QBR. Allen doesn’t have the TDs or the Yards of the competition, but has a better rating and an insane 74% completion rate.
2500 Tyreek Hill, WR KC- 1043 Rec Yards, 7 TDs. So far Tyreek is king of the Hill when it comes to receiving yards.
2500 Alvin Kamara, RB GB- 695 Yards, 8 TDs. Kamara could make a run if the Packers shift the focus to the raining game more, but they have too many mouths to feed and are looking for a repeat.
3500 Isaaic Rawls, WR BUF- 784 Rec Yards, 9 TDs. League tops 9 td catches and he has only 24 receptions.
3500 Berry Brooks, WR GB- 742 Rec Yards, 8 TDs. The thing Brooks and Rawls have over the likes of Hill, Hopkins, and oBJ is about 10 less catches, with their YPC average, if they get some more targets the should continue to climb.
4750 Todd Gurley, RB LAR- 580 yards, 7 TDs. Gurley has the physical tools to make a run, but if it’s going to a HB they are likely named Bell or Kamara.
5000 DeAndre Hopkins, WR HOU- 635 Rec Yards, 8 TDs. His 8 TDs get him on the list, but he has the least receiving yards on the list with the most receptions.
5000 Bryce Heppner, QB NYG- 2039 Yards, 16TDs, 16 INTs. Hepp is the product of a combination of a cheesy overuse of four verts and a gross negligence to the running game.
200 Gordon Federkeil, QB Jax- 1949 Yards, 17TDs, 9 INT, 110.0 QBR. He is gunning for MVP, but AFC OROY will be a nice consolation.
500 Berry Hemsley, HB Buf- 576 Rush Yards, 8 TD. Hemsley is almost having an MVP type season, unfortunately for him, voters love them some QBs.
5000 Kyran Long, WR IND- 343 Rec Yards, 1 TD. Kyran needs some throws from the Jacoby/Luck combo to make a stronger case.
150 Ja’Darius Figurs, WR Atl- 835 Rec Yards, 7 TD. See MVP list.
3500 Curtis Hogan, WR NO- 462 Rec Yards, 2 TD. Some work to be done to catch Figurs, but maybe Stafford can help.
4000 Craig Borland, QB TB- 1146 Yards, 7 TD, 12 INT. Borland makes the list by default, due to leading NFC Rookie QB (post-Stafford trade)
Honorable Mention: Deontae Hubbard HB Det, he was listed until his 5 week injury sustained today.
500 Jacorie Medlin MLB GB- 23 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FF, and 2 INTs. Medlin clearly has the tackling ability to win the award with the playmaking
750 Geneo Bradley, MLB NYG- 17 TKL, 1 INT. Should see the chance at a number of tackles playing on the worst defense in the league.
3500 Tobias Robbins, DE CHI- 2 TKL, 2 Sacks, 1 FF. If he could see some more snaps he could make a late push.
5000 Clayton Bell, CB NYG- 6 TKL, 3 INTs. When it comes to how the slowest rookie Corner in XCFL history has 3 INTs, your guess is as good as mine.
1000 Derrick Rodriguez, DE BUF- 9 TKL, 5 Sacks, 1 FF. Sacks are always a big factor in voter criteria. What an excellent pick for the Bills near the end of the 2nd round.
1250 Parker Hudson SS IND- 25 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FF. Hudson leads the Colts in tackles and is 3 shy of league lead.
1500 Akeem Spriggs CB NE- 22 tackles, 1 sack, 5 ints, 5 deflections, and a TD. Spriggs has been quiet besides a huge Week 6.
1500 Paul Brockel MLB HOU – 28 tackles. Brockel is leading the league in tackles so far.
2500 Seth Gentry, FS BUF- 24 TKL, 1 INT. Gentry is just shy of Brockel’s league leading 28 tackles.
3500 Tarquin Flynn, CB NYJ– Flynn was an early favorite for the award, but has since lost hype with only 8 tackles and 7 deflections recorded so far.
